Professional training course

The course is one day in length and is available around the country depending on interest. Please see course date page for details of forthcoming courses.

The course will teach you the basics of the therapy and how to perform it safely and professionally.

A comprehensive manual, over 28 pages long,  is also included. Although it will not be possible to cover all aspects within the manual on the day, contents include:-

  • History and principles of Tibetan Ayurveda
  • Principles and philosophy of Tibetan Massage and Acupressure
  • The Tibetan energy system
  • The Medicine Buddha
  • Using oils
  • Chakra assessment
  • Contraindications and cautions
  • Infectious/non-infectious conditions of the head and face
  • Legal and ethical issues

 

 

An optional A&P home study module is available  for applicants who have not covered anatomy and physiology of the head and neck.  Please note that the A&P module is relevent to Tibetan Acupressure Head Massage only and is not a substitute for a nationally recognised anatomy and physiology qualification, nor can it's completion guarantee insurance cover.

 

 

No previous experience necessary

The course is open to all.

Tibetan Acupressure Head Massage is a perfect 'starter' course for individual's who are just beginning their therapy career, as well as a useful addition to the established therapist's range of skills, including Reiki Practioners, Holistic Therapists, Beauty Therapists and Spa technicians.

Techniques taught on the course can be used to enhance other therapies, including Reiki, Indian Head Massage, Holistic Facials, Hopi Ear Candles, Aromatherapy and most other forms of massage.

 

 

Certification

 A  certificate is given on completion of the course.

The course and treatment is original and is accredited and recognised by insurers as such. Only therapists who have done this course are entiled to call themselves Tibetan Acupressure Head Massage practitioners.

TAHM is recognised by the following professional organisations and insurance companies, providing the applicant has the appropriate A&P.

IPTI  Course atendees will be able to join the IPTI as Practitioners of Tibetan Acupressure Head Massage, be able to gain cover from their group insurers and be entitled to the letters MIPTI .

FHT as post graduate for FHT members with recognised Body Massage qualifications or VTCT Indian Head Massage.

 FHT  5 CPD points

Course Venues

 

Courses are available around the country. Wherever possible, the venue costs are kept to a minimum in order to keep the course at a reasonable and affordable price.

Venues include village halls as well as dedicated workshop or class room space within complementary therapy centres or schools.
